The Excel file explained:
Monthly search volume: This file is not populated by this application, sorry! You need to get this from the Google Keyword Tool
Raw Competition: When you do a search in Google and it shows Results 1 - 10 of about 1,070,000. The 1.07 mil figure it the Raw Competition for that keyword.
Directly Competing: This is the figure you get when you do a search with allinanchor command. ex. allinanchor:Search Term
This number show the number of pages with an inbound link with anchor text matching the keyphrase
You need to now add two new columns:
KEI: Keyword Effectiveness Index. This is the most common way to measure keyword effectiveness based on supply an demand. It is calculated as Monthly search volume^2/Raw Competition
KOI: Keyword Opportunity Index. This is the most common way to measure keyword effectiveness based on supply an demand. It is calculated as Monthly search volume^2/Directly Competing
